1. Keep It Cool

Store EVOO in a cool, dark place, ideally at a temperature between 14–18°C (57–64°F). Avoid exposure to heat sources such as stoves, ovens, or direct sunlight, as heat accelerates oxidation and spoils the oil.

2. Protect It from Light

Light exposure can degrade the oil's quality over time. Choose bottles made of dark glass or opaque materials to shield it from light. If the bottle is transparent, consider keeping it in a cupboard or wrapping it in foil.

3. Seal It Tight

Air exposure leads to oxidation, which can make the oil rancid. Always ensure the bottle is tightly sealed after each use. Use containers with a tight-fitting cap or lid and avoid prolonged contact with air.

4. Avoid Moisture

Keep the oil away from humid environments, as moisture can contaminate it. Never pour oil back into the bottle after it has come into contact with food, as this can introduce bacteria and impurities.
