Join us for an immersive journey into the refined aromas and flavors of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In this master class, our expert sommelier will introduce you to the unique characteristics of authentic olive oil, teach you how to distinguish quality oils from defective ones, and explain what sets Extra Virgin apart from other types.
Master Class Program:
History and culture of Extra Virgin Olive Oil production
Tasting fundamentals: how to identify aromas, flavors, and textures
Practical tasting of 6 oil samples from various categories, according to international standards and recommendations by the International Olive Council (IOC)
EVOO defects: we’ll cover the main defects in oils, their impact on health, and teach you how to identify oils unfit for consumption
Tips for selecting and storing olive oil
Culinary use and discussion of the key question: Can EVOO be used for frying?
Medical insights: proven health benefits of EVOO and its role in supporting a healthy lifestyle
In addition to learning, you’ll enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, pleasant company, light snacks, and refreshments. To refresh your palate, green apples and mineral water will be provided during the tasting, and near the end of the session, we’ll taste oils paired with cheeses and warm bread.
Please avoid coffee on the day of the event to keep your taste buds more sensitive—we’ll be happy to serve coffee after the class!
